Joe continued working behind-the-scenes until Bonneville International sold the 104.1 signal to Radio One, in 2008.

Highlights during Joe’s Radio career included on-the-spot reporting from the foot of the 14th Street Bridge following the crash of an Air Florida jet, in 1982 to producing a Live broadcast of a Washington Nationals baseball game during their inaugural season for WTOP radio. Joe also hosted a number of Live Radio-thons for such organizations as Muscular Dystrophy, Ronald McDonald House and the Carol Jean Cancer Foundation’s “Camp Friendship”. Joe also regularly produced and broadcast Live Election Night returns.

2008 marked the debut for Joe Lehan as the Voice of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs independent-league baseball team.

Joe’s life of public service began while he was still attending High School as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician with the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad, in his native Calvert County, where he remained an active member until re-locating to Charles County in 1985. Joe is a Charter member of Calvert County Crime Solvers, Inc. In 2003 Joe served on the Board of Directors for the Southern Maryland Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Joe has called Waldorf home for over 25 years. He is the proud father of one son, Robert. When not at the ballpark Joe enjoys Live music and the outdoors, especially time spent on the Chesapeake Bay.

What's left belongs to Joe's occasional work as a voiceover artist.
